The numbers on the vehicle, against the numbers on the paperwork
The verifier reads the VIN plate on the dashboard and the federal safety label in the door frame, checks the engine and body numbers where the transaction calls for it, notes the odometer, and looks at the emissions label under the hood.
All of it is compared against the title or out-of-state registration. If something does not match, that is exactly what the verification exists to catch, and we will tell you what it takes to sort it out.
